035: RETTIE Training Solutions; James Lynch, Marco Mendoza, Jim GennariNovember 19, 2015 by Cigars and Sea Stories | 7 Comments
On this episode of Cigars and Sea Stories, the team welcomes James Lynch and Marco Mendoza of RETTIE Training Solutions, joined by former Naval officer Lt. Cmdr. James Gennari. James and Marco are former FMF corpsmen and have served down range in various capacities.
After linking up as instructors at Corps School, James and Marco became business partners in the civilian sector. They saw a need for combat trauma training at the immediate responder level. EMTs and law enforcement professionals in suburban areas are not provided with experience-backed trauma training. RETTIE Training Solutions provides these men and women with the knowledge and practical application of skills needed to assess and react to a traumatic event such as patients who’ve received gunshot or shrapnel wounds.
In support of RETTIE Training, is Jim Gennari is a long time veteran of the US Navy with multiple tours down range. Jim is credited with saving a Marine’s life after the Marine’s leg was shot-through by an RPG. With the warhead firmly lodged in his thigh, the Marine was EVAC’d to Gennari’s aid station where Doc Gennari and an EOD tech made a hair raising removal of the device.
Jim supports the efforts of James and Marco in their cause to train first responders and provide trauma equipment to those in need.
