On this episode of Cigars and Sea Stories Bennett describes in detail the indoctrination to Marine Corps Recon. The thrashing in the pool, the carrying of logs, sugar cookies, etc.
After 24 hours of pain he finally made it through. Bennett was in 2nd Reconnaissance BN from 1993-1995 and then became a lifeguard at the area 2 pool on Camp LeJeune. After his Marine Corps service Bennett got out moved to Long Island for a short time to become a stock broker. That did not work out and he moved back to Wilmington, NC. and jumped from job to job. He ended up getting a divorce and joining the army, which is a whole other story.
Bennett now works as a peer support specialist, writer, speaker and coach focusing on veterans and men through his work with his non-profit Warrior Hall and other affiliated organizations. He has dedicated his life to the betterment of the veteran community and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Bennett lives with his wife and four daughters in Delaware
