On this episode of Cigars and Sea Stories, the team talks with Sean Reed, Marine veteran, MMA fighter and all around great guy.
Sean is a 10 year veteran of the Marine Corps who served in the special operations community as a reconnaissance Marine at 2D MSOB, 3rd Recon and 2D Force Recon. While in the Marines Sean deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan and Africa. In 2010 after returning from Afghanistan, Sean decided to leave the Marines in order to take care of his daughter. In 2011 he took his first fight in order to raise money for a critically wounded teammate. Since then Sean has turned professional, but still continues to donate all of the proceeds of his fights to veteran causes. The Silent Warrior Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to any college-bound person based on direct familial relationship to a Reconnaissance Marine/0321 or Critical Skills Operator/0372, academic achievement, and financial need.
